The small world phenomenon is the hypothesis that everyone in the world can be reached through a short chain of social acquaintances. Thus, it has been postulated that every single person can be reached by a chain of an average length of 6 acquaintances. The proof of this has still to be given, but the idea sounds interesting and needs more investigations.
I won't solve this problem, but I am doing a little experiment to see in which extent it can be applied to me. From my own acquaintances, I have started a chain. I want to see how big and scattered will be the group of people reached in five steps.

The principle is simple. If you know me or if you know somebody ... who knows me, add yourself on the following map following the rules I have defined below. Then, send an E-mail to the people you know so that they add themselves.
Add a comment in which you indicate how many degrees of separation you have with me and how you know the personn who contacted you.
